The need to mitigate climate change and reduce carbon emissions has resulted in an increasing demand for the transition from fossil fuels renewable sources of energy. Hydropower, particular, emerged as a prominent extensively developed source energy recent decades. This specific harnesses kinetic falling or fast-flowing water generate electricity. Despite being dependable, adaptable, cost-effective source, previous studies have highlighted detrimental ecological effects hydropower, ranging altered land use disruption natural habitats vicinity dams. main purpose this study is two-fold. First, energy, particularly evaluated 2000 2020 China globally, highlighting leading role hydropower generation. Second, aims investigate environmental influences large hydroelectric dam construction perform case Three Gorges Dam China. Pearson's linear correlation analysis was utilized identify association between climate, biodiversity, individually.
